As we slowly emerge from quarantine here in the Metropolitan area, we as Chinese Medicine practitioners are all set to re-enter the Healthcare community with our own particular set of tools and perspective. Our goal, as always, is to help bring our patients back to balance with acupuncture, herbal medicine, Tui Na (Chinese Medical Massage) - as well as lifestyle and nutritional recommendations.
We expect we'll see patients within our regular areas of specialty - the typical musculoskeletal issues, women's health, as well as pregnancy and oncology support. However, in case you didn't know - Chinese Medicine can also address early and middle-stage respiratory and gastrointestinal issues (i.e. as with COVID-19), in many cases eliminating the need for hospitalization. It also offers excellent preventative care by strengthening the immune system and regulating systemic functions (i.e. cortisol, blood pressure, heart rate, fluid metabolism, etc.) - thus increasing your overall resilience.
Chinese Medicine also excels with many of the unspoken, but equally pressing issues that have developed since the pandemic's onset. Our patients have reported a good deal of unhealthy weight gain, high anxiety, depression, and insomnia while in quarantine. In some cases, the isolation and fear of the unknown has triggered symptoms of PTSD. These are areas where we can be of great benefit in a very short amount of time.
We can offer both in person treatment - and when appropriate, telemedicine consults for herbal remedies. Let us know how we can best support you!
Our New Clinic Policies & COVID Prevention Protocols are now in place to keep us all comfortable and safe within the clinic. We’ll also be operating on a limited schedule for a while, and spacing out appointments to reduce overlap from patient to patient. There is still much to learn, and we'll continue to adapt as needed - but we're here to help during this transition back to whatever normal will be for the next while. In the meantime, please continue to practice social distancing, hand washing, wear your mask preventatively, engage in available testing, but most importantly - stay in touch with your own needs - mind, body, heart and spirit. Breathe, stretch, meditate, write, listen to music, say a prayer, enjoy the warm weather and try to de-stress whenever you can. See you in clinic!
